For next Monday, no not the one in two days, the one in nine, I want for each of my students to compose an eight measure piece. It doesn't have to be complex, but I do want to get a feel for the sense that each of you has for music. I do not feel the assignment is extraordinarily difficult considering I am giving you over a week to make this sound as you like on your preferred instrument.

...My, oh, my. It is nice to see the enthusiasm. I hope to avoid students fighting me. My first assignment will not be easy due to the fact that I'm going to be forced to take an early vacation during next week. But I do promise that this week will lead up to making you able to do that assignment effectively.

Do not let me down and hope for a good year. ^_^
